Emily is NIHR Clinical Lecturer in Transplant Surgery based in Newcastle. Her research investigates the delivery of novel therapeutics during normothermic machine perfusion to recondition marginal kidneys prior to transplantation.
Her research in this field, has been awarded the Surgical Research Society’s Patey Prize, British Transplant Society’s Medawar Medal & the Roy Calne Award and she was the first recipient of the ESOT Leonardo Da Vinci Award.
She is the President of the Herrick Society, which represents transplant surgical trainees and was appointed to the SRS council as the academic trainee representative in 2024.
